A quick update as I admit to having abandoned deviatart a long time ago- I am now a book arts student at London College of Communication, I decided Central Saint Martins just wasn't for me. As a result I am now running a highly successful Book Arts blog http://fuckyeahbookarts.tumblr.com/ which boasts thousands of followers and many personal hours dedicated to avoiding projects. If you need to find me, you can contact me there or submit some of your own work. Best, Leah x

Some very Good News!: 1. I have finished school forever, and I'm not in the least bit sad about it. 2. I've just been accepted into Edinburgh College of Art! (although I'm fairly positive I'll be taking up my previous offer to Central St.Martins in London :D ) 3. I've been awarded the Senior Bursary for Creative Arts by my school (every year the heads of staff select one pupil from either the Music, Drama or Art department who they feel deserve it), so I'll be getting some vury naice amount of monies for college at my school's prize-giving day in June. I've never won anything in my life before so I'm pretty chuffed, especially as I reall

For the second day in a row I have not had the will to go to school, so took the day off to be a Fat Mess. As I was lying in bed, reflecting how much of a failure I actually am, my mother came into my room with an envelope, from Central St Martin's College of Art and Design. "Oh Jesus no... I can't bring myself to open it... I hate rejection T_T" She passed it to me regardless, and I noticed it was far too heavy to be a simple rejection letter... I ripped the envelope apart and much delirious jumping up and down on the spot ensued :D :D :D It's a conditional offer, so I just need to pass one of my A-Levels- and I've already passed A-Leve

Hi !! so i've been following you on tumblr, and i love love love the book arts blog you have, so i wanted to get to talk to you somehow.. now unfortunately my knowledge of internet (in particular tumblr) baffles me and i couldn't work out how to contact you there... (breathe) ok. So here my thing :) I'm making rabbits, out of children's drawing (yes paper ones) and I'm sewing them. and i was wondering if you could think of a way i could call them (a booK) of some kind, you see I'm doing Fine art, and I'm looking at making books for my print class, but my ideas sort of amalgamated into these bunnies but i still want to consider them "books" I'm only about half way through making all the ears, arms, legs, bums and tails so i have a Facebook page with progress on it. so maybe you could take a look for me? hi i know you don't really know me but could you like this for me please? be very grateful

oh each bunny has its own little tag with a name that represents an angel baby lost through stillbirth, miscarriage or illness.

thanks and sooooo sorry for the ramble :)

Anna :D
Hi Anna! I'm so sorry that I've only just seen this now, I never use my deviantart account anymore now that I'm on tumblr!

Your project sounds and looks wonderful too, and I know it's probably much too late for your class, but if you're still interested, you could perhaps make a fabric "book bunny"?
Like make the head, hands, feet etc separately, and then have the main body/torso of the bunny be a sewn/embroidered book you attach them to (you put cardboard inside little fabric pockets, pad them a bit for plushness and then sew them up so they'll act as pages- the cardboard will prevent them going all floppy!) You could hand embroider a simple short story or poem on the pages?

Sorry again for only seeing this now!
Best, Leah x
